George Lyons

Mr. Lyons has 35 plus years of experience in the energy industry. George was Senior V.P./Co-Founder of Tractebel Energy Marketing a multi-commodity trading company that reached $8 billion in revenue with 80 team members during his tenure.
George has a deep experience in energy commodity trading having worked in refinery supply for South Hampton Refining, Champlin Petroleum, Elf Trading, Coastal Corporation and Enron Oil Trading and Transportation.

Mr. Lyons was an early entrant in the power trading markets starting the power desk at Tenneco Power Marketing and then Tractebel that included power trading in most NERC regions in conjunction with associated regional fuels such as coal, fuel oil and natural gas. George’s responsibilities were for both a large multi-commodity proprietary trading book in addition to fuel supply and power dispatch of merchant power generation assets.

George was involved in the analysis, purchase and integration of Tractebel’s acquisition of Cabot LNG. George has also acted as commercial, risk and trading advisor for Banks and Creditor Committees in several merchant power company restructures, including NRG and Mirant.
